Things I Love Thursday

It’s time for Things I Love Thursday…Let the gratitude commence:

The sky this morning was a beautiful shade of blue scattered with just a couple of clouds, similar to the above picture. The sky didn't stay that way for very long but it put a spring in my step this morning.

On Monday I had to attend an inquest, whilst I can’t in all honesty say I loved that per se what I do love is finally getting answers (even if it’s just confirmation of what I already believed) and the sense of closure.

Also high on my love-list this week…

Russell Howard gig last Friday- best friends + good wine + lots of laughter [so. much. laughter] = wonderful evening

Rastamouse- A Stop-motion series, based on a series of books by Genevieve Webster (an author and illustrator) and Michael De Souza (a Rastafari swimming instructor), featuring a crime-fighting special agent who plays in a reggae band. True to the original books, Rastamouse and his friends speak with a Caribbean accent and using some Jamaican Patois terms and much of the story is told in rhyme. The stories are mostly themed on how people can get on and solve problems through understanding, love and respect. Rastamouse’s ethos is redemption not retribution or as the mouse himself would put it “makin’ a bad ting good”, to teach right from wrong & help the wrong-doer redeem themselves from their mistake.

The very lovely go_placidly and myself were retweeted by the tetley teafolk over on twitter. This fact possibly makes me happier than it should!

Now it’s your turn! What splendid and spectacular things have been happening to you this week?

Friday Finds

In the course of my day to day life I am often assailed by some tantalizing pieces of information, humorous videos or other miscellany and have decided to remove them from my own head by making them come out and tickle your heads instead in a new weekly post I’m calling *Friday finds* (in lieu of a better name). Hopefully reader some of this pointless trivia will interest/amuse/ delete as applicable and to paraphrase if my post can make you smile I’m happy.

Today's find:
There's a Norwegian furniture company called Fjord Fiesta

Things I Love Thursday

From the first strike of midnight, today has been a no-good, very bad day for me. It would be easy, so, so, easy to sit and mope and whinge. However that never solved anything so instead it’s time to focus on the happy things I love this week:

This week I love catching up with friends. Last Saturday I met up with two of my oldest and dearest friends for pub lunch followed by a tour of my friend S’s brand new house. It is a gorgeous 2-bed semi detached and I’m sure she and her fiancĂ© will be very happy there.

I am also loving that a couple of my darling youth group have taken to sending me amusing/silly/cheesy (delete as applicable) messages after we threatened them last week that due to the Thursday group being oversubscribed non-attendance without prior explanation could lead to them losing their place. One of my favourite so far reads:
“Hi, not sure I’ll make it tonight. I have to go throw grenades at Bruno Mars girlfriend to see if he is all talk ;) j/k see you later gb x”

Also:

- Midsomer Murders- Goodbye Barnaby, it’s the end of an era

-The new advert for totaljobs.com reminds me of that facebook group ‘THINGS THAT LOOK LIKE FACES’

-'Oh, you've only got a little dad, have you?'

The Beatles, Morecambe and Wise, what’s not to love!

And so concludes my list of this week’s pleasures. What are the brightest and shiniest snippets of your week?
